WHAT WE’RE ABOUT

Indie30 is an independent music blog that began publishing in 2008. It is run with a global focus by a very very small band of music tragic’s from Adelaide in Australia who believe passionately in promoting newly created and independently released music across a myriad of diverse genres and styles without fear or favour.

Indie30 is proud to use the term "indie". It is not a music genre nor is it or should ever have been associated with any particular music style. Indie is simply short for independent label and used correctly describes music created and released independently of the giant corporations who own the three major labels.

Given their underground roots and their constant refusal to yield to corporate greed, Techno and House for example are genres more 'indie' than the pop, rock and folk genres that are mistakenly and disingenuously labelled as such.. As 4AD, Sub Pop and Matador are “indies” so are Warp, R&S and Ostgut Ton.

Indie30 does not and will not promote or feature any music from major label artists from the three major labels owned by giant corporate entities Vivendi Corporation, Access Industries or Sony Corporation or their 500+ subsidiaries and sub-labels.

Creating, enjoying and promoting independent music and culture is in and of itself a political act. We are unashamedly progressive in all spheres of life and will never compromise our commitment to defend freedom of expression, speak truth to money and power, celebrate diversity in all its forms, fight for equality of opportunity for all and respect our place with the planet not above it.

To ensure complete freedom in what is promoted on Indie30, the blog has always been and will remain a labour of love, and a voluntary entity that is completely non-financial in status. Those associated with this site have full time jobs unrelated to music.

Digital promos of singles, EP's or albums and new videos are welcome. Indie30 does not engage in musical criticism. Quite simply, if we like something we may feature it, if we don't, we won't.

All media on Indie30 is for sampling purposes. It is sourced from artists themselves or from existing audio sources on the web. If you are an artist or label who wants something removed please get in contact asap. We strongly encourage readers to support the artists they like and purchase (not just stream) their music. The term struggling artist has unfortunately become all too real for far too many. What this society is prepared to pay for its art says everything about what this society has been made to be. And this must change.
