WHAT WE’RE ABOUT

Indie30 is an independent music blog that was founded in late 2008. It is run by a very small band of music tragics from Adelaide, Australia who believe passionately in promoting independently created and released music across multiple genres from right across the globe. We feature new music posts, an album of the week, the odd record review and feature as well as our signature weekly Top 30 chart.

Indie is not a music genre nor is it associated with any, hence we do not use it in this way. We are proud to be associated with the term and refuse to yield to those who continue to either misappropriate, misinterpret or malign indie's true and original meaning. Like 'underground', the term simply means music made by independent artists and either self released or released through an independent label. We only support artists and labels who put music and creativity first and value and defend artistic freedom, regardless of trend or financial cost. To this end, we do not promote any music coming from the three corporate owned major labels or any of their sub-labels.
