Canada is delivering some punching above the weight action at the moment independent music wise. No less than four of the current Top 10 hail from the that country and so does this week’s leading new entry. Etiquette might be a fledgling outfit, but its two members are luminaries of the Canadian independent sphere, singer-songwriter Julia Fader and Holy Fuck’s Graham Walsh. The first track from their debut record, Reminisce is the winding pop of ‘Brown and Blue’, one we’ve been sitting on a while and it finally makes its debut at number 17 this week replete with decent audio. While the Scion Sessions video for the track is a beauty, its low audio quality leaves a lot to be desired. Synch the vision below while you play the audio from our Top 30 player. The album is out March 24.

American Wrestlers is the project of Scotsman at large Gary McClure, now settled in St. Louis in the US. One of his nascent tracks, ‘I Can Do No Wrong’ made our Top 100 last year and now he’s released the first single, ‘There’s No One Crying Over Me Either’ from his debut self titled album, due out April 7. It comes in 19.

The final new entry is a track we featured last week from Acre Tarn, ‘Dawn Faces’. That’s at 25.

Yumi Zouma’s ‘Catastrophe’ remains at Number 1 while Natalie Prass jumps back into the Top 5 at 2 with ‘My Baby Don’t Understand Me’. Trento’s Casa Del Mirto hit the Top 10 with ‘Butterfly’ (7) as does Canadian trio, For Esme with ‘Just Yet’ (8) and England’s Maribou State ‘Rituals’ (10).
