Roanoke trio Eternal Summers won an album of the week gong from us back in 2012 for the sublime rock that was their second album Correct Behaviour. For some reason last year’s The Drop Beneath didn’t have the same effect here as perhaps it sounded too similar. However, the first single, ‘Together Or Alone’ from their new record Gold And Stone, out in June, has regained our attention. Nicole Yun’s guitar alternates between a hook filled riff and powerful and hypnotic chord work while Jonathan Woods bass work winds about providing a strong backdrop. Gold And Stone is out on June 2.
