Late last month the Leslie Bear directed trio Long Beard dropped their debut record, Sleepwalker. A long time in the making, songs from it have appeared on two separate recordings over the past couple of years, firstly on the Holy Crow EP, ‘Hates The Party’ and ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ and on the split LP, Ghost Graduation with Fraternal Twin, ‘Turkeys’, ‘Porch’ ‘Moths’ and ‘Days Of Heaven. It’s a pleasurably awkward affair with percussion often deliberately outpacing or lagging behind Bear’s autumnal guitar stylings, dreamily recorded loops and stream of conciousness vocals. It is at once as rock as it is folk as it is pop, all with a tinge of the experimental. The new video for ‘Turkeys’ is below. Sleepwalker is out through Team Love and can be purchased on vinyl here.
