Back in 2011 and early 2012, we featured the first two EP’s, Moon Junk and Bedroom Spirit from Istanbul experimental producer Ozcan Ertek’s soundcollage project. Over the half decade since, the talented Ertek has further honed his sound craft drawing on a myriad of multi-faceted influences and points in musical time. Upon shelving soundcollage he released music under the moniker Jungleskin before embarking on his current project Seretan.
In 2013, the now Master of Sound Engineering spent a residency at the newly formed Red Bull Music Academy in New York working alongside inaugural alumni Throwing Snow, Papercutz and Octa Octa among many others, giving further breadth and depth to his already then considerable electronic music skills.
Now he is set to release his first fully realised work as Seretan, a four track EP, Live In Dreams, utilising natural sound elements (musique concrète) and fusing them with electronic manipulation and intuitive dance oriented rhythms. A perfect example of this comes in the form of the organically propulsive title track which premieres below. Live In Dreams is out February 19 through Partapart. Buy here.
