Throughout his two previous releases, the modus operandi of English musician/producer Stephen Wilkinson’s Bibio project has been to intuitively manipulate sound to craft diverse pop gems and on the stunningly effecting ‘Petals’, the first cut that was unveiled late last year from his forthcoming album, A Mineral Love, his use of backward effects and pastoral guitar is to die for. Last month, he introduced a second cut into the public realm, the retro funk laden, ‘Feeling’. Put together, such diversity augers well for the rest of the record.

A Mineral Love is out through Warp Records April 1 on all formats and speaking of which if you like the aforementioned tracks you hear below and aren’t familiar with Bibio’s first two records, Fi and the high water mark Ambivalence Avenue, both received a vinyl release late last year. Get them and pre-order details for the new album here.
