The combination of Rachel Goswell (Slowdive), Stuart Braithwaite (Mogwai), Justin Lockley (Editors) and James Lockley (Hand Held Cine Club) coalesced into Minor Victories last year and the new project has just released the first single from their forthcoming self titled debut album due in June. A Hundred Ropes is a motorik driven, almost cinematic experience and the juxtaposition of the driving beat, orchestral flourishes and Goswell’s as ever laconic vocals works a treat. The self titled album is out June 3 on Fat Possum.
