Melbourne electronic pop duo Zone Out recently dropped their debut album, the musically subtle and vocal reliant, Transience. Effectively a mildly downbeat yet quietly defiant dream pop affair, the album largely rests on the heartfelt and honest vocals of Ashley Bundang (Totally Mild, Ciggie Witch, Sui Zhen – live) who together musically with Scotdrakula’s Dove Bailey has interwoven delicate yet busy time structures with gliding synth work. It’s seemingly effortless and on first listen seems a little lazy and undercooked but spend time with it and you’ll totally understand the understatement. The aforementioned description is no better illustrated than by second single, ‘Breakdown’ which you can check out below. Transience is available here on vinyl HERE through Deaf Ambitions.
