Last month Parisian artist Cléa Vincent shared the first single, ‘Jmy attendais pas’ from her forthcoming debut LP, Retiens mons désir. It’s a super nice mix of pop and nu-disco with a subtle bass groove. We’re going by some rather dubious French translation, but we gather it’s been a rather long road for Vincent who has been plying her trade since 2011. Having briefly toyed with the idea of signing with a major in 2013 before realising she was a little out of her depth experience wise (thankfully!), Vincent then teamed up with Midnight Special Records and brought out two EP’s independently, Non mais oui Vols. 1 & 2, back in 2013/2014, working with percussionist Raphael Léger. Last May saw the two EP’s brought together for a vinyl release through her own crowdfunding page and with distribution help again from label Midnight Special who will also release the full length on October 7. Listen to the first single and watch its Michelle Blades directed video below.
