Earlier this month, Johanne Swanson announced the release of her debut record as Yohuna, Patientness, a mixture of  subtle atmospheric electronics meticulously built around delicate instrumentation and completed by Swanson’s earnest lyrics ensconced inside her fragile vocals. The first single is ‘Apart’, drifting and timeless and intensely reflective of her residential restlessness over the past few years. While she now resides in New York City, that journey has taken her from her hometown of Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire in Wisconsin to Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Boston and most importantly Berlin. Swanson enlisted close friend Adelyn Strei (Adelyn Rose) there on guitar and vocals and together they set the songwriting groundwork for the record. Owen Pallett, Felix Walworth and Emily Sprague then joined the pair for the recording while Pallett himself on co-production and engineering duties. Patientness is out September 9 on Orchid Tapes. Pre-order the vinyl HERE.
