Chris Stewart, the artist behind lo-fi electronic act Black Marble has released the third taste from his forthcoming second album It’s Immaterial. The upbeat yet wistful ‘Frisk’ will find you on the involuntary move physically while you subconsciously embrace its timeless wonder as it works its way into your sonic senses. We’ve also included the first two singles from the record too. The busy new wave inspired ‘Iron Lung’ and the kaleidoscopically dark metronomic masterpiece ‘Woods’.
“It’s a lot of psychic turmoil about time, place, and the dissatisfaction that comes with being young and not having control over place, or being old and not having control over time. The record is filled with characters trying to convince themselves, and others, to change or to see things differently or to come along with them somewhere. It’s that moment of wanting between knowing and doing but frozen in time.” Chris Stewart.
Frozen in time with Black Marble? I couldn’t think of a place I’d rather be! It’s Immaterial is out through Ghostly on October 14. Pre-order on all formats here.
