DIRTY PROJECTORS CONTINUE TO PUSH THE BOUNDARIES ON NEW ALBUM

Brooklyn outfit Dirty Projectors, now essentially the project of a lone David Longstreth, released their eighth studio album last month, the first since the brilliant Swing Lo Magellan in 2012. The self titled effort continues Longstreth’s penchant for pushing the boundaries of a multitude of genres but pop is undoubtedly at its centre. Undoubtedly a break up record dealing with the end of his relationship with the equally talented former DP member Amber Coffman, the protagonist enlists no less than seventeen musicians across the album’s nine tracks, one of which is Dawn Richard (D∆WN) whose vocals appear on the last shared track to appear from it, ‘Cool Your Heart’. Watch the video to that below as well as the other two tracks shared previously, ‘Keep Your Name’ (with video) and ‘Up In Hudson’. Dirty Projectors is available on vinyl here through Domino Records. Welcome back Dave!
