Progressive DJ/Producer Blawan recently dropped what could well be the best electronic release of the year in the form his new ultra cerebral six cut double vinyl EP Nutrition. The man behind the moniker Jamie Roberts has been well known in serious techno circles for pushing boundaries and experimenting with modularity through analog driven structures and textures as well as employment of forensically inventive percussion. In doing so he drills right down into the minutiae with remarkably consistent results. Nutrition is no exception and just might have outdone his past work. The two standouts across a very even collection rest on the second platter with the abrasive fragility of ‘993’ and the intense atmospheric banger ‘Atlas’.
