This is our final new music post for 2017. We couldn’t think of a better way to end the year than sharing this…
Helsinki’s Cats Of Transnistria have ended 2017 with the release of an intoxicating new single, ‘Candy Man’ which will appear on their forthcoming album Opium set for release next year. After gifting us the cautionary tale ‘Love‘ in the middle of the year, ‘Candy Man’ continues the unsettling and arresting trajectory of that track as Tuomas Alatalo and Henna Emilia Hietamäki explore forbidden themes of “hedonism, escapism, submission and addiction” and ensconce them once again in a beguiling musical dream state. The video is a re-edit of the 1931 film Svengali which appropriately represents the themes present in ‘Candy Man’. Opium is out February 2 through Soliti while you can buy the single here.
