This past February and March saw Austin DJ/Producer Sara Landry fire her first two shots across the production bow serving early notice of the rich tide of promise ahead. A minimalist funk streamlines the tension on debut track ‘Chasm’ as she restrains all elements in both measure and form creating a understated swagger and the ample width the track is named for. ‘Rootless’ on the other hand does terms on a more techno basis where the kick and off hat combo pack more heat and a dense riff of bubbled synth repeatedly combines at speed with a powerfully circuitous bass line.

Having plied her trade as a DJ for some years, Landry has taken her hand to serious production over the past year or so and ‘Chasm’ and ‘Rootless’ form two early Tech-House variants that light the way for the many and varied electronic music paths that lay ahead. And given the fact she’s has been playing a few of her other tracks in her DJ sets of late that journey will continue sooner rather than later. Both tracks are out on Swiss imprint Pinkstar Records under its parent Sirup. Music. Listen to the original long form versions below and get both digitally here.
