MELBOURNE CANS TO RELEASE FIRST ALBUM IN FOUR YEARS

MELBOURNE CANS TO RELEASE FIRST ALBUM IN FOUR YEARS

Having promptly disappeared from sight (and consequently avoided certain superstardom) upon the release of their debut album, 2014’s Moonlight Malaise, Melbourne Cans are back with a lustful desire to play every two-bit dive bar in town and familiarise the world with their new set of fatalist classic pop tunes.” The Lost & Lonesome Recording Co.

Earlier this month Melbourne Cans announced the release of their long awaited second album Heat Of The Night by  unveiling it’s frenzied first single ‘A Shape In The River’. Frontman Ian Wallace part-channels the off-vocal style of  Orange Juice legend Ed Collins and despite upbeat organ played by Suss Cunts’ Nina Renae and Wallace’s tuneful melodies there’s a menace that lurks in the track’s domestically violent underbelly. Taking its cues from all things nocturnal and film noir, the urgent musical disposition and soulful emotive musings reflect the unhinged mind of a man who, ridden with malevolent envy, permanently ends a toxic relationship by murdering his significant other.

Listen to the track below and look out for links to the pre-order up soon. Heat Of The Night is the quartet’s first release since 2014’s Moonlight Malaise and will be out July 13 on all formats through The Lost And Lonesome Recording Co.
