NEW VIDEO: GROOV MEKANIK TAKES US ABOVE THE CLOUDS

Adelaide artist, DJ and producer Robert Koster aka Groov Mekanik, released his stunning ‘Above The Clouds’ back in March, a muscular mixture of ambient and melodic techno which continues to floor us with how effortlessly it conveys a sense of simultaneous urgency and reassurance. It made up one half of the digital EP Data From Above, a collaboration with fellow Adelaide DJ/Producer and visual artist Adorno (Gavin Lane) and the second release for nascent Adelaide electronic label Monotreme ADL after Featherstone and Centerpoint’s shared EP Lucid Sands.

Now Koster himself has provided us with with a self created graphic video that literally takes us on a journey above the clouds. Utilising a plethora of motion graphics its combination of warm colours and constant forward motion seeks to take us above our earthly troubles and also represents that salient idea of just valuing moment and movement as important in and of themselves without any reference to destination. Watch below.

‘Above The Clouds’ also appeared on Monotreme ADL’s impressive first compilation, the diverse 10 track Hatch Vol. 1 It includes the six tracks from the first three collaborative EP’s, the third of which was the Space Conundrum split between Cambershae and Antony Coppens and four others by Afdal Sebi (DJ Afdal) and Daniel Demourtzidis (DemoDC) as well as DCE and Dryad.
