Vale Zac Denton. Genuine artists like this beautiful human being are the reason why Indie30 exists. Just 24. We are devastated. Extending condolences to Lachlan and family, all of the equally beautiful musicians who played with him, his friends and all those who knew and were touched by him. There will be a special Top 30 this week. We’ll be sharing a selection of 30 of our favourite Zac Denton tracks from The Ocean Party, Ciggie Witch, Pregnancy & Hobby Farm on both our Top 30 Playlist and Spotify. It might take a bit of time because we’re a bit fragile right now. Our ❤️ is heavy and like Zac’s and his independent music community, it is big. While we get our shit together, sample some of Zac’s work below.
UPDATE: The tribute to Zac Denton special “Top 30” playlist is now available to your right and the abridged Spotify version is here and now contains the heartbreaking ‘Rain On Tin’ and ‘Home’, the tracks he contributed for The Ocean Party’s The Oddfellows’ Hall. The album, which was due to be released on November 9, was brought forward last week and offered digitally by the band as a pay what you feel contribution here. The vinyl is now sold out in Australia but is still available here from Emotional Response in the US. The playlist on our website will be up until Thursday Australian time.
