100+3 – FAVOURITE INDEPENDENT HOUSE TRACKS OF 2018

We may be on a break from new music posting until February but in the meantime we’ve been busy collating our genre specific end of year lists. We begin with our 100+3 favourite independent House tracks of 2018. It’s a diverse and eclectic selection taking in many of House music’s subgenres. It includes tracks from some class producers taking in the likes of Lisbon’s Ines C. aka Violet, Portland’s Akasha System and German based Chilean Anna Cook from the 100% Silk compilation Silk To Dry The Tears, a tribute to the 36 beautiful souls who lost their lives in the 2016 Oakland fire. One of those was American DJ/Producer Johnny Igaz, aka Nackt, whose posthumous releases continue to remind us all what we have lost. The list also includes Bristol’s Shanti Celeste, Toronto’s Cindy Li, aka Ciel and Nathan Micay (formerly know as BWANA), Brooklyn’s Bailey Hoffman, aka Beta Librae, the Swedish duo of Shakarchi & Stranéus, Lvov producer Darko Lisen, aka Lstn, London based duo Wayward and Danish producer Kasper Marrot, Swede Ludvig Franzen, Anne Karolczak, aka Pretty Pink, Barcelona’s Pional, Italian duo Underspreche, Amsterdam based producer Tracey, New York based South African artist Jackie Queens and fellow New York based artist Abby Echiverri, left field Paris producer Slowglide, two hypnotic tracks from mysterious self-effacing Japanese electronic wizard Shinichi Atobe and the highest placed House track of 2018 for us, Berlin based Korean DJ/Producer Peggy Gou‘s incredible ‘It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)’. These 23 tracks plus another 8o can be heard now on Spotify below in no particular order or preference (numbers don’t indicate placings). Happy New Year to all. Enjoy.
