Monnone Alone, the guitar pop project of former Lucksmiths bass player Mark Monnone and an esteemed coterie of Melbourne musicians is set for the imminent release of a new album, Summer Of The Mosquito. The second single to come from it, the instructive and power pop centred ‘Do It Twice’ just scored a video directed by Lily Youngsmith and edited by Youngsmith and Lehmann B. Smith (Totally Mild, Kes Band), who took the reins on the band’s video for jangly defiant first single, ‘Cut Knuckle. Watch the new video as well as that one below.
Summer of the Mosquito is out on all formats through Monnone’s label Lost & Lonesome on May 10 as well as Meritorio (Spain), Royal Mint (Finland) and Emotional Response (USA). You can buy ‘Do It Twice’ on 7″ vinyl with a cover of a 2004 track ‘The Sea & The City’ by San Francisco band The Mosquitoes. Buy the single at the geographically relevant links above.
