Los Angeles synth duo Drab Majesty have released ‘Long Division’, the second single from their forthcoming third album, Modern Mirror. Essentially a track about the ironic point in a relationship when both parties realise that compromise has not only cost them their individual identities but created a mutual and self-resentment and an unbridgeable rift of regret. Realisation and regret is sonically represented by the shoegazey squall of delayed guitar and realisation and release by the laid back rhythm and contemplative washes of synth. Both emotions elementally collide during the chorus like a bittersweet quest for cathartic relief.

Drab Majesty kick off the 10 date first leg of their two part European tour in Istanbul tomorrow night with support from Turkish synth pop outfit Jakuzi. The longer second stint begins in September.
