Illustrious London based English DJ/Producer James Dutton has released two pristinely crafted deep house cuts under his Athea moniker that together, with a remix of the title track, form his new EP Hangdrums of Ginza. Both tracks are characterised by their balanced rhythm, adept use of space and the attention afforded to layering minute details with maximum care.
The title track is underpinned by a constant rolling low end juxtaposed against the gradual employment of a wondrous suite of tubular melodies inspired by a recent trip to Japan. Besides the excellent flip side ‘Contact’ the EP also boasts a remix of the title track by Venezuelan producer Fur Coat. The Hangdrums of Ginza is currently playing in our New House Playlist on Spotify and is available now via Knee Deep In Sound for purchase or stream here.
