Sometimes instrumental music when composed with both head and heart can convey an array of intangible feelings and emotions that words cannot. A scintillating example of this is the pristine and emotively illuminating ‘Longing, Love, Loss’ from Pittsburgh experimental analog synth artist and one half of prog-duo Zombi, Anthony E. Paterra aka Majeure.

The meditative, transformative and reflective composition conveys the track’s title to a tee. One where layers of warm synth, undulating waves of arpeggio and dramatic chord progressions create a slow motion soundscape representing the illusory, exhilarating and ultimately terminal nature of human relationships in all their significant forms.

‘Longing, Love, Loss’ is lifted from Paterra’s fourth stand alone album Mass Flashback due for release through Holodeck Records on September 27. Watch the visuals for the track unfold courtesy of drip//cuts below and pre-order the album here. It also currently features here in our New Experimental & Electronic: An Independent Music Playlist by Indie30 on Spotify.
