ROBOTALCO’S CALLISTO IS AN ECLECTIC TRANS-ATLANTIC ODE TO THE SUMMER

ROBOTALCO’S CALLISTO IS AN ECLECTIC TRANS-ATLANTIC ODE TO THE SUMMER

Today saw Milan left field house veteran Sebastiano Urciuoli aka Robotalco (formerly Club Silencio)  release his new full length album Callisto through Los Angeles label 100% Silk. On it he unleashes 10 tracks full of left field interpretations of  a range of electronic influences, both sun kissed and nocturnal, retro and futuristic.  Each metaphorically commute with adventurous ease between the aquatic and breezy mid afternoon coastal vibe of the Mediterranean club, the hypnotic and sweat inducing dance floor heat of a inner city Detroit warehouse and the heady and rarified atmosphere of the Jamaican underground.  Beside his unique representation of multiple house genres, especially of the futuristic Detroit and French variety, Urciuoli also makes room for the hefty insertion of dub and balearic influences and the delicate application of new wave and electro.

Sample ‘Bubble Rhodes’ one of the standout tracks from the album below. There you’ll find an animated and future focused bass line and lo-fi treated flute sounds sit comfortably astride intoxicating rhythmic layers that benefit immensely from live application of drums from Luca Fontaneto. You can also find it here along with a batch of 29 other high quality new tracks in our New House Playlist on Spotify. Callisto is also streaming below and physically available on digital and cassette formats here.
