Lisbon and Luxembourg City based brothers Lisandro and Ivan aka PML Beatz have dropped their latest long distance collaboration, Pedra de 800kg, a scintillating and pensive three track EP for Lisbon label Príncipe. Through the prism of their Cape Verdean and Angloan heritage and their experiences growing up in Lisbon, the Portuguese siblings collaborated long distance this time to present an intoxicating mix of influences from kuduro, broken techno, New Beat, UK Bass and drone. The unresolved tension between its speedy attacking rhythms, whether full or spare, and brooding and foreboding tones makes it one hell of a special ride all too soon ended by the cruelly short length of its title track.
