After releasing the sun-kissed nostalgia of ‘Goodtimes’ late last November, their first piece of recorded music since their debut album in 2016, Melbourne shoegaze quartet Flyying Colours have have wasted no time getting out of the blocks in 2020 with the release of another single. Showcasing their diverse intent, ‘Big Mess’, with its measured male/female harmonies juxtaposed perfectly against its pacy distortion heavy power pop vibe, is a representation of the unsettling disconnect felt by the band upon their return home after a lengthy overseas tour.
Speaking of tours, Flyying Colours are set to do a six city tour Australia later this month (dates below) in support of the singles before heading to the US and SXSW with Europe on the agenda thereafter. ‘Big Mess is out now on Poison City. Stream it below or head here to our Post Punk Wave Shoegaze Post Rock Playlist on Spotify where it currently has pole position ahead of a stack of new release goodness.
