Readers Note – Indie30 on Hiatus & Returns Early 2021, New Music Playlists Continue

Regular and casual visitors to Indie30 may have noticed the current technical issues impairing functions and appearance of the site, especially since July. This is due to the need for a long overdue upgrade to the  functional elements . This is to be carried out shortly but will take time. Readers will have also been cognisant of the dramatic drop in the number of posts and features during 2020. With just myself working on site content, creating content as often as I would like to has proven impossible. Sadly, doing reviews, interviews and features is no longer possible with the workload associated with my non-music related employment.

Given a significant amount of time is needed to remedy the technical side, rather than limp along I have decided that this is the perfect to put Indie30 on hiatus for the remainder of 2020. There will be significant change upon return in both content and appearance. Focus will now turn towards manoeuvring Indie30 into a space where the seven New Music Playlists & Tracks of 2020 Series on Spotify, which will continue to be updated during the break, take centre stage. Hearing, curating and sharing such a vast array of quality music over the past two years has taken up the lion’s share of the time I devote to the site and it just makes sense to align posts and the site in general to that work. Content wise, the intention is to post more frequently and briefly to highlight my standout new releases and album of the week. As far as site design goes, the aim is to make things much more intuitive and easier to navigate.

So until 2021 thanks for your ongoing support and, twin crises of crippling pandemic and neoliberal capitalism aside, be as well as you can be.
